Get ready,
we're going places.
Gold Coast Airport will open its newly expanded multi-level terminal in 2022, positioning our city as the preferred gateway to our region.
Ask any local and they’ll tell you — our part of the country’s growing from strength to strength. We have a thriving dining scene, more arts and culture and infrastructure that sets us up for even more growth in the future. Along with all of the great experiences and stunning scenery the Gold Coast and northern NSW are world-renowned for.
So it’s only fitting that Gold Coast Airport grows alongside the region. And that’s where our bigger and better terminal comes in.
Set to open 2022, this three-level 30,000 sqm game-changer doubles the terminal’s current size — giving us the space we need to better connect our region to the world. Seamlessly connecting with the existing terminal, there’ll be room for 19 additional large aircraft to touch down or take off.
Gold Coast Airport has always been perfectly positioned to introduce passengers to the best of the region, on both sides of the border. The blue of the ocean, the green of the hinterland, our golden sun and the cool sea breeze. And the fresh, modern design of this terminal expansion reflects that natural environment even further.
Whether visitors are walking down one of the four new glass aerobridges or waiting in the expansive departure lounge, they can soak up the surrounding scenery — while the open, light-filled design of the expanded terminal shares the same laidback spirit as the region itself. Everything from the timber-decked forecourt through to the 18-metre high ceilings hall where international departures are farewelled has been carefully considered. It’s a space designed to celebrate all that’s great about our part of the world.
This expansion sets the stage for new and returning international and domestic flight connections — which are a must to keep up with our region’s ongoing growth. As the world keeps moving ahead and borders start to re-open, links to New Zealand, Singapore, Korea, Japan and Malaysia will be ready to go from our new-and-improved terminal.
And with more local travel on the agenda for more Australians, our domestic routes — like the already-busy Gold Coast-Sydney and Gold Coast-Melbourne flight paths — will be in an even better position to welcome Aussies to our region. As the world keeps moving ahead and borders start to re-open, links to New Zealand, Asia and beyond will be ready to go from our new-and-improved terminal.
Our region isn’t just growing and changing. It’s thriving. And once this project is complete, we’ll have a larger, more modern terminal to match. A world-class facility that offers a better travel experience. Provides more jobs. And connects the Gold Coast and northern NSW to the rest of Australia and the world — while operating as a fresh, inviting gateway to welcome visitors to the place we’re so proud to call home.
